Is there a program that can send me a test message at some adjustable interval so I know my BB is getting mail?

You can also use the Network Diagnostics to know that everything is running okay. Manage Connections -> Mobile Network Options -> Menu -> Diagnostic Test.

I have a cron job setup on my server that dataoutages run's on that sends me an email each hour to let me know that things are still running smooth.

I was looking for that in an app. Maybe something to run on a pc.
