First off, are you asking about a Bold or the Curve 8900 as indicated in your profile? If 8900; you're in the wrong forum and may get a more accurate answer in the 8900 forum where other owners may have experienced and corrected this issue.
What version OS are you currently running? Go to Options (from home screen) > Click About ............. third line down will read v4.6.xxx (Platform 4.0.0.xxx)
I am currently running 18.104.22.168 (beta) and just checked my sleeper mode and it restores all connections automatically. So it could just be a bug in the version you are running ......... consider upgrading OS to latest official release; this can be found at the top of the Bold Forum, stickied.
