Can I ask a simple question?
Who would you believe for information on fixing a problem?
If upgrading will fix the problem and NOT cause any others, then you should do it. If you upgrade and it fixes the wi-fi problem, but creates others, downgrade and don't use wi-fi.
Its a simple process, if done correctly, won't cause any problems.
If you are that worried about it, call AT&T and see if they have any ideas.
But all you are going to get from most of us, moderator or not, is to at least TRY an upgrade of the OS.
