I have just bought a used BB 9000 on Ebay. I was told it was fully unlocked....however when I put my Orange Sim in it does not allow the email set up. I can make and receive calls but when I try and set up email I only have the option to use the BB enterprise server which does not apply to me a a personal customer.
I have called orange who believe the phone is still "registered" to an old O2 account and until removed will not allow me to set it up? seems odd? I have called O2 but they will not release details to me as you can expect.

2 mobile phone unlocking shops have had a look and tried master reset which does nothing. Various internet unlocking sites have been unable to help either?

I have never had this problem before. I have tried to contact the seller who has not replied (suprise suprise) and if anyone needs it the vendor code is 301 (whatever that is) which seems to be cropping up a lot on the net when searching seeing others with a similar problem.

Can any one please help me? im going mad!!

It is not an unlocking problem and unlocking wil lnot affect it. Sounds to me like the previous owner did not cancel their BIS account and the PIN and IMEI is still tied to it.

You need to contact the seller and apprise them of the problem. Ask that they contact their carrier and cancel the BIS account associated with that BB. That will release the PIN and IMEI so that you can use it. If they refuse, then ask for your money back. Simple as that.

Actually this sounds like it is the fault of your current carrier. You likely have a BES data plan instead of the BIS data plan that you need/want.

Actually never mind... the details of "PIN in use" were limited to the headline and I failed to notice you had specified that issue.

When I got my NEW bold, there was only an option in email settings to setup enterprise.
I had to go to my carriers BIS page to set up email for BIS.

If Orange's BIS page wont let you register, then the PIN is in use, but if it lets you register then its just that the email setup didnt come with the option for BIS, like mine...and mine was new straight from T-Mob UK.
