Default Bold resets when trying to play video

Please Login to Remove!

I recently installed some training videos I originally had on my iPhone. I copied the m4v to the memory card without any issues. I played each one without problems. Some have audio some do not.

Now sometimes when I click on one of the videos, the device resets. I tried a battery pull; but it randomly resets. It does not matter which video is selected.

Should I upgrade my OS from .167?

Pete

you should upgarde anyway, but I don't know if it will definately fix that problem.
have you tried taking the memory card out and putting it back in?

This happens on my BB 8800. I did some testing and found that videos made in xvid codec either show "error loading" video or reset the BB. Let me know which codec was the crash video made of.

I used the m4v format that I converted for my old iphone. Basically the videos were originally either wmv or mp4 files. Funny thing is they all worked perfectly but all of a sudden some just cause a restart. Will a OS upgrade help?

Maybe I should try to reformat them to standard h234 mp4 files??

I recommend you upgrade. I've been at 185 and 216. 216 is working fine.

I also recommend you re-format your micro SD card, in the BB, after you upgrade, then copy the video files back over.

I personally convert everything to .mp4 and force the size to 480x320. That's been working for me.
