Default Just dumped the Treo for a Bold have ???

Please Login to Remove!

Well overall I like the Bold but I hate the texting program.
It separates every message you send and receive instead of having one nice dialog box grouped for each text that you send to each person showing a line by line layout of the complete conversation on one screen.

Is there a program you can purchase to mimic the Treo texting layout?

Thanks For any Help!

David

you mean like an IM conversation layout? so the first message is shown underneath a reply and your reply above that etc?
there is an option in the bold for this.
go to options->sms->number of previous items
then change this to a number (highest 50) and it will show that many previous messages in the same window for replying to a text.

I think that is it I will try it out now.

If I am describeing it correctly on a treo when you text someone that entire conversation stays in one reading pane with your text then their answer, then your reply and so on all under the header of 1 text message from that 1 person.

It seems with the bold each message opens a new reading pane for each message sent even if they are to the same person. So if you are talking with someone say with 5 messages each you now have 10 items to delete which is a pain.

On a Treo you delete one message and all the back and forth is deleted in one message.

Having them in one pane is easier to deal with than the constant boxes opening everywhere. Also if you are texting 2 people at the same time on a bold your messages are now jumbled trying to tell which text came from what person and who you are typing to.

Does the above fix this??

Thanks Again

David

ok the above thing allows you to see the entire conversation when you reply to a message.
however, they do come into your inbox as separate messages. and deleting one wont delete the others. (as far as ive seen, and i have no texts with which to try it)
to delete all, just make sure its highlighted on the date, click menu then delete prior, and it will delete all prior messages.

The Palm Treo had the best implementation of threaded SMS ever. That's the only feature I miss from my Treo days. Nobody does it like the Palm Treos do. Unfortunately, with the Blackberry platform, each reply creates a new message in your folder. No way around that I'm afraid. Clicking on the most recent SMS will show the entire conversation, but the message folder remains cluttered with all the previous SMS's. :(

I usually keep the newest/last message, and delete all the other ones showing, that way I can open up one message, and I can see the entire conversation. But if it were closer to how BBM is layed out, it would be alot easier!
