hello, i've got my bb9000 yesterday and it's really awesome so far.

there's one problem left, i can't change my signature - not that much of a problem but i can neither change it on the phone (which seems to be normal according to the previous posts) nor on the website (which would be blackberry.orange.fr for me). i'm supposed to use my e-mail address on the website, am i? something like , the one i've entered on my phone.

it's really annoying and i just want to know if i'm trying to use the wrong username or if the orange website is simply messed up. there was only one open topic left but it was in the wrong area and almost 2 years old, so hopefully opening a new one is ok.

Is this BIS? Are you talking about changing the "sent from a Blackberry" signature?

Yes, it's in French but means something like "sent from a blackberry through orange".

You have to create a new account first. If you set your emails up from the Blackberry itself, then you don't have an online account. So you click 'create account' (Je ne sais pas ce que c'est en francais: Creer quelque chose) and go from there.

I've tried that already but the website didn't accept it and said that an account using this PIN / IMEI already exists. :/

Did you get this BB from somebody else?

I've bought it almost exactly 24 hours ago in the Orange (France Telecom) shop, Market Place, Versailles. :D

when you used the email setup to add your email, did it ask you for a username to create the account?

the email setup on the phone, should ask you the same information that going and doing it via the BIS page would.

if you have a problem, call your carrier about it and they should be able to either tell you your username, or reset it for you.

It's really weird, I've just tried to retrieve "my" password using the website and the mail, which was only sent to my BB after entering the PIN (the username didn't work, hence why), simply said that I don't have a username yet and should create one. Damn it.

Oh and no, the phone asked which mailaddress / password I want.

that'll be your problem!
it may allow you to set it up via the email setup in the phone, as once an email is setup it goes to your BIS page.
but no sure.

at least you know the actual reason is that you don't have a username

There's another point in the e-mail setup - I still can't understand why I couldn't create a username on the website but...never mind, it's working now. Thanks a lot people!
