Default Unlocked ATT Bold cannot use with Fido/Rogers

I am on the ATT BIS with the ATT unlocked Bold. Last week when I traveled to Canada and inserted the Fido 3G SIM into the Bold and made an outgoing call, the Bold gave me a msg "sim toolkit control error" then followed by "call barring", it would not let me call out, but I could receive call. I inserted a Rogers 3G SIM same errors. I have 3G data plans for the Fido/Rogers accounts.

I have no problem if I inserted the following SIM into the Bold (can make/receive call and browse)
- ATT 3G
- ATT 2G
- Fido 2G
- TMobile

So is that any problem with my Bold, or the Fido/Rogers 3G SIM, or ATT Bold cannot be used outside ATT despite it is unlocked.

That's an issue with the provisioning of the SIM. You will need to contact Rogers/Fido to get it resolved.

Otherwise, as long as the device is unlocked, it can be used on any GSM network.

i fixed it myself. it has nothing to do with the sim

could you please let me know how you did it....because without the ability to make calls i am essentially stuck with an expensive data device :(

you will need to de-brand the bold. once it is de-branded, you can make outgoing call, receive call, use 3G, and bb services
