I recently acquired a Blackberry Bold for my girlfriend but we don't have a Data Plan - I want to be able to use the browser on my at-home WiFi but it seems to be connecting to 3G and browsing through that - is there a way to force it to use WiFi or is there some setting I can change?

I can't afford to "accidentally" browse via 3G for a month until my bill arrives.

Go to 'Manage Connections' and uncheck 'Mobile Network'. That will take you out to the internet using your 'Wi-Fi' connection.

Be aware that you'll not receive any phone calls or MMS/SMS while in this mode.

Probably the more straight forward option is in your browser to go to

Option
General Propoerties
under "Defualt Browser" pick "Hotspot Browser"

While surfing, make sure that the wifi icon is "lit up".
