hello guys.i just opened up my new bold and got all of the settings the way that i wanted them.well, almost, while i was configuring my settings the trackball and keypad lights would go off but i could tilt the phone to a more horizontal plane and the lights would come back on,for a while.now the trackball and keypad lights aren't working at all sometimes and very intermittently at other times.like, they will work right after i take it out of the case, with the magnetic sensor, but very soon, like seconds, after the lights will go off again.what did i do or not do to my brand spanking new bold?i am in a fit here because we all know what the bold cost.
thanks for the help,

Honestly, the best thing to do would take it back or send it back. You're going to spend more time with support than you'll like. If it's that new, I'm sure the place you go it from will have no problem replacing it.

The only light when the phone is in a dark enough area. If it's light out they will not light up. To test cover the LED with your thumb and they should come on. If they do it's normal. I know that mine can be quite finicky in low light situations.

Wirelessly posted (at&t BlackBerry Bold 9000)

Go to Options>Screen/Keyboard and turn "Auto Dim" off. That should keep the keyboard light lit the whole time.

No it won't. It did on the Curve but on the Bold it will still dim in bright or moderately bright areas even with Auto Dim off.
