is there anyway to change the first 6 icons at the menu to another application?

If it is a theme that allows movement than you can move the apps around. Thats what I get from your question but your not very clear. I think thats why you have had like 29 views and no responses.

Like previous poster, the 1st six icons in the full menu can be moved around. What theme do you currently have it setup as?

To answer the question...if you are not using a custom theme then open the application list, highlight the applications that you want on the home screen, click menu>move and drag them to the first six applications in the list. they will then appear on your home screen.
