I downloaded the Rogers on Demand application today and subscribed to the radio station service, but now when I listen to the radio stations using this application, my backlight stays on all the time. I lost 50% of my battery is just one hour.

I jumped to my homescreen and locked my phone and after a few seconds the light went out...but about 30 seconds later it came back on again.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug in the software, and I've contacted Rogers Wireless to advise them of this, and they will contact the developer to fix this problem. I told them that I will cancel my subscription if this issue isn't fixed fast!

So in the mean time, is there anyway that I can shut the backlight off manually?

To my knowledge, the only apps that have the code to release the berry from standby are the phone and alarm.

Just tried Standby....doesn't work. :(
