id say take a glasses cleaning cloth. even still, if you arent obsessive about it, i used a regular cotton towel and dampened it. people say it scratches, but if you dont rub hard and just let the moisture remove the face oil and dust off then itll be fine.

then id put a screen protector on it and then you dont have to worry about the screen itself since its covered.

Do not use glass cleaner!!! they have ammonia in them and your screen is plastic not glass. It can etch them and cause clouding after time. The best thing is to take a microfiber cloth and see if it can remove your smudges make sure there are no pieces of sand/dirt that you will push around on the screen and scratch it. If you require more then a dry rub then wet the cloth with distiled water. Distiled water is important because it has 0.1% if very little impurities, and if for some reason you put too much on the cloth and it gets in your device no harm done as distiled water does not hurt electronics because its the impurities in water that make it bad for electronics. Also it wont leave water marks when it drys. If you still need more cleaning power you can go with a isopropyl alcohol that is almost pure like 90% or higher (the higher the better) and mix it 50/50 with distiled water in a spray bottle and spray onto the cloth and wipe the screen. Never spray right on the device as it can pool and make its way into cracks and places you don't want it to go.

Stuff like paper towels and alcohol wipes can be abrasive and even though many people will tell you they use them all the time with no problem don't realize they are slowly clouding their screen and being abrasive to it. It's like the analogy of smoking does not kill you because you smoke one and you don't die well of course you wont... its a gradual process that over time slowly happens.

Hope this helps.

Its actually a good idea. saliva breaks down greese. So its actaully the perfect liquid to use.

I have looked all over the net and every one says it's plastic or glass like plastic. The only glass on a BB device so far is the cover for the camera on the newer 8900's also if you change your case the screen covering is bendable so I'm not sure if you could do that with glass.

Again I have nothing to prove it that it is not glass so if I am wrong please let the rest of us know. I would love to see concrete evidence one way or the other.

I've used the eyeglass cleaning solution and microfiber cloth that I've gotten from Wal-Mart and use on my own eyeglasses to clean my phone screens forever. Works great...and isn't full of ammonia.

Are you guys sure the Bold screen is glass? I thought it was plastic just like the 88xx & 83xx series BB's were...

Myn office keeps individually packaged display cleaners availible in our break rooms. I find that these work pretty well, and don't damage the display at all.

Haven't licked my screen yet-but I do have a co-worker who licked a liquid damage indicator to see if it would trip it. (It did).

Linty.

Microfiber cloth works well. Or you can invest in a screen protector. Those are good too.
