I am using a bb bold. It is unlocked. It was locked to Orange Romania. I installed the lates OS posted above but it seems that I cannot find the visual voice mail icon. I think hat it doesnot install the app at all. Can anybody help me on this? Thanks in advance.

just to clarify. You have a voice mail on your carriers system and the icon is not showing? If this is what you mean it could have to do with the theme. try changing to another theme and leaving yourself a vmail to see if it shows up.

Yes it has. The voicemail icon never apear to my BB before. I cannot find any net_rim_bb_vvm files on my device. When I try to install the manualy the alication doesnt let me. Any ideas? It has to do with service books?

Have you tried changing themes? Go to options> themes and change to a different theme. Then leave a voice mail for your self and see if it shows up.

Oh the other thing I just though of is that you have to pay some carriers for voice mail notification. If you have basic voice mail with your carrier you might need to get a batter package that tells you when you have voice mail. I know Rogers use to make you pay for enhanced voice mail to get notification. Try calling up your provider as well to and ask them if you have to pay for voice mail notification.

The Visual Voicemail is not active yet. Once it becomes an active application, your carrier will send out a service book that will enable it.

Is visual voicemail something that all carriers will be provide?
I assume that visual voicemail was something that the iphone had, and the carrier in the UK who had the iphone was O2 only.
I wouldn't see the point of a carrier who didnt have visual voicemail originally, would adopt just for blackberries.

The vvm app is not installed at all. Do I have to have an unbranded bold?

No, it's listed as an option when you install your OS.

Not sure about the service book thing. Since the feature has to be enable on your account with the carrier, I don't think sending generic service books with help.

Yeah, it's not in that one. I would try .234 or .237.

But I can see the 7 .cod files that have the vvm inside plus the net_rim_bb_vvm.axl file in the instalation folder on my PC.

Yes, but for some reason the AppLoader doesn't list it as an option to install.

Againg I can see the files in the folder where the os installed on my PC. No option to install from the apploader. If I try to do it manualy it does not let me saying "no additional aplications designed for yor device were found".

As I stated before, you will NOT get an icon until your carrier activates the service. For AT&T, it's scheduled for March 25. I don't know about Orange.

The maps icons also didn't show, but I sent some other service books and works now. They were installed anyway.

The vvm does not install at all!!! do you know why?? even if they activate the service, the app is not installed!!!!

Some people from other carriers, I read here in the forums, they have the icon.

There must be a way.!! Even the Bb browser , the facebook app 1.5, yahoo msnger installed and can make it work without a BB plan on my device (using one other sim).

I think the installation of it, is dependant on vendor id.
I dont know to be honest.
I don't think visual voicemail will come to any carrier who hasnt carried it for the iphone.
I certainly dont think T-mob UK will get it.
And i also appose t-mob charging 12p a min for regular voicemail OUTSIDE your calling plan. I have £200 of cred with my plan and only use like £30 of it, but if I get a voicemail, I have to pay on top of £35 a month...stupid.
