I am having an issue with OS 4.6.0.247. Since the upgrade I no longer receive new voicemail notifications. I am not sure why this happened. Of the three Bold's that I upgraded two are experiencing this issue. Any ideas? I have already pulled the battery....many times.

lots of people on .247 are having this problem.
i believe its something to do with the fact that it has Visual voicemail files, and VVM isn't active yet and it appears to be cancelling each other out sorta thing

So would I be best to downgrade?? Or upgrade to the latest unofficial release?

i think all OS's since .219 has VVM (though im not sure)
but if you only had this problem upgrading to .247 and you previsouly had .237 for example, downgrading is best if you want you voicemail notifications

You could just edit the .alx file to a different vendor ID other than AT&T's. Then it won't install it. And when they actually make VVM available, just put it back and install it.

that's because ATT didn't implement visual voicemail yet, so you have to remove the visual voicemail in app remover and you will get voicemail notifications again. Open the net_rim_bb_vvm.alx file and change the value from true to false and save it.

sorry I'm a 6 year old when it comes to getting involved with BB net files, etc. Do we just go to the Bold and use applications remove to remove VV? Thanks

What I did was remove all the vvm files from the Java folder.

ok from your desktop you mean? does the bold need to be connected?

On the desktop I removed the files from the Java folder. Launch the Application Loader and reload the OS.

You can also use the program Crackutil to delete the visual voice mail file from the phone with out reloading the entire OS
