Default BlackBerry Bold Headphone Jack Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Tried a search and nothing came up, so my apologies in advance if this has already been covered.

I'm having problems with my headphone jack. My Bold doesn't seem to recognize headphones if I plug them all the way in. I have to pull the headphone jack a quarter way out in order for the BB to realize it's plugged in. At first, I thought it was my earphones so I tried the OEM earbuds and iPod earbuds, but I get the same problem.

Has anyone had this problem before? What was your solution?

What would be my course of action? Should I take it to my wireless service provider? or should I talk to RIM about it?

apparently you have to try it 5-10 times for the blackberry to recognise them.
in, out, in, out, till it does recognise.

I've had a similar problem, especially when using it to connect to car stereo. I'm getting a warranty replacement from AT&T.

Did you pay for the monthly insurance? Or does the warranty come with the phone? What's the time limit on the warranty? I picked this phone up all the way back in November, hopefully it's not void. =(

Have the same prob. I dial the # and once call is in progress I insert the headset. and it works after that perfectly. Listen to music and answer calls etc. But once U remove the headset U have to start all over. I use a Bold and the New Headset from Apple.
