| Facebook on Bold issues Please Login to Remove! Hi Guys,.
I've had this on a few bolds and I don't know what's going on...
i had the old facebook ap and it was working fine and one day it just stopped.
i since then uninstalled it, reinstalled it, upgraded the firmware, etc got a new bold (with a working letter E) and it's STILL not giving me my updates.
I now have the 1.5 version and no updates EVER.
it's realllly annoying.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?!

| Warning: it works well all right, but if you're on MAC, it will break your sync with both PocketMac or Missing Sync and there's no way to repair it for now. | | Offline

| Is the email address you have for Facebook, setup on your bold?
As the Facebook incepts the incomming emails about updates and shows them in the facebook app instead, it wont work if you've got 2 different email address (i.e. the one on your bold isn't what you login in to facebook with).
Thats the only thing I can think of for it not to work

| I use this app everyday, and it works great for me. I have OS v.247 on my Bold, though.
I think it might be the email thing someone mentioned. Your Facebook email needs to be the same as your Bold. | | Offline

| the ONLY issue i've seen with fb 1.5 is that if i'm using another application (say bbm or even my email), it will suddenly switch to the fb app. other than that, i have no issues. it still needs tweaking though. what i've noticed:
*If you've commented on a person's status, and update the status updates, you don't see the new updated amount of comments the person has.
*sometimes for absolutely no reason, messages don't come thru.
I don't know if there is an option to check if a person has commented on your own status, but i never get those and have to keep checking the mobile site for it.
It's pretty neat otherwise. I like being able to see a bigger picture of the person especially in their profile.
I don't use FB on my laptop owing to a very personal reason. Its been a lot easier on my BB.
That was random.
Oh and i'm using FB 1.5 on OS .237. | | Offline

| Most likely cause is turning off email notifications or not using the same email on the Bold as was pointed out earlier.
Hard to see why they couldn't have gone a little farther with adding features to this app.
One cool item that I'd missed until now is that if you syn your contacts from FB 1.5 you can go online to FB and there will be a spot to search BLACKBERRY contacts to see who is online.
I'd never been able to upload a contact list because FB didn't support (maybe they do not) Google Contacts when you use GMAIL with your own domain. | | Offline

| No thanks. I will wait for the official release. The e-mail issue, as a previous user noted, is the likely cause of the problem. You MUST use the same e-mail address that you sign on to Facebook with the Facebook BB application. This has always been the case.

| One problem I have noticed is when I get a status update, friend request/confirmation, message, etc. on facebook, I get the little facebook notification on my bb and thats great, but when I go to my Outlook, those notifications are there as unread messages as well. It appears they don't sync both ways. When i accept them via the facebook app, it doesn't clear them out of my inbox. I'm on BES. Anyone else notice this? | | Offline

| This happens with version 1.2.
with 1.5 there is an option to remove the emails from the server (or something to that effect) so that once a facebook update is received on the BB, the email about that facebook notifcation will be deletd from server and not make it to your outlook

Check your email (inbox and deleted items) to see if you have any emails from Facebook. If not, then you don't have your email notifications set to go to that email address. You have to set this on the facebook website so they go to the email address that's set up for you blackberry. Once you get the email on your blackberry, the facebook app filters the email before it reaches your inbox and makes it show up in the facebook app. You can set the option in the application to either leave the message in your inbox or to remove it after intercepting it. | | Offline
