Unhappy Shark killed my internet!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to BB with a Bold model. Last night installed Shark to use my BB as a Modem and couln't make it work. I've noticed that since last night I have no email, no internet browsing, no nothing! I can use my BB only as a phone and it is frustrating!

Any suggestions to correct this severe problem?

Warm Regards,
Joel

First I would uninstall the program then do a battery pull. Hopefully that will remove the settings that the application left and reset them back.

I've done both, and nothing happened!

What's the JL_Cmder??? (I promise to perform a search ASAP).

Will this action delete my information (phone numbers and contacts)?

Yes, please do the search.

Yes, it will completely wipe your phone and reset everything to factory. You should back up your device, but make sure you don't save anything about the applications.

Maybe resend service books before I took it that far, if that doesn't work then wipe it.

Lightbulb mmhhh....

FOUND IT! blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

I thing it'll be easier wiping out the device... but that's going to hurt since I have no backup at all.

DacyJ, any idea on how to resend service books???

Log into your carriers BIS site, google for instance att bis. Then look for the resend service books and do that. Just a try.

This should help
How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ

I would go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu Key > Register Now.

From your original post, it sounds as if you're not getting any data, that's why I questioned if you're getting EDGE in capital letters or edge in lowercase letters.

Also, verify your data services didn't get turned off. Options > Mobile Network > Data Services = On.

Thanks jsconyers. I just resend the service books, what's next?

You should get some email messages stating that you've been registered with the wireless network.

Joel just resend service books and forget shark to use your Bold as modem.

First if you are with Telcel be sure to have some BLACKBERRY FULL package to avoid extra charges; BLACKBERRY FULL packages just adds 30 pesos to your normal charge and let you have ilimited traffic with an APN in your Bold. This packages are limited in the use of full speed up to 500 MB per billing cycle, when you reach 500 MB speed is adjusted to EDGE instead of 3G.

Once you be sure of have BLACKBERRY FULL package is easy to connect with your laptop, just install Desktop Manager and follow the instruction that you must request at *722 Opcion 1, Opcion 1 with your cell phone.

I'm also with Telcel and have a Bold using it as modem without problem and without third party software.
