Unhappy Bold Frustrations - ? Help !!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Device: AT&T Blackberry Bold, followed latest OS thread and upgraded to v4.6.0.247, thanks to you all the upgrade itself was simple. Now I have 51.3 free space. First day things seemed better, for the last two weeks now the Bold restarts itself and or freezes 8-10 times per day and I have been dropping 2-3 calls a day. There does not seem to be any trigger causing this to happen. I have removed some applications, the only ones remaining are Bank Of America, Espn Mobile Web, google mobile app and I do have ATT Navigator activated. The battery drain does not seem to be an issue. I am a heavy user: on the net, e mails, phone, various BB apps all day.

Short of bringing the phone back perhaps it's miswired, I have no clue what to do and have not found any solutions on line except to upgrade the OS which I have the latest.

Thank you for any assist you can offer , I love this baby but am tired of the poor performance!

I had the same exact problem with my Blackberry 8300 series. Here's how to resolve the problem step by step.

1: Take the expansion card out of your phone and connect to your computer. (You can connect it to your computer with the memory card adapter)

2: Copy all the content on your media card to your pc.

3: Format the memory card.

4: MANUALLY recreate the folders that you copied to your computer.

5: Copy the content that you have backed up on your computer to your memory card. You MANUALLY have to copy the content from with in the folders on your pc and paste it into the folders that you have created on your memory card.

I am 100% sure that this will work if you still need further help you can drop me an instant message on aim at boykes7184u and I will help you out with it.

All I can say is .247 has been the best so far. I run my down to 2-3mb of memory without an issue.

I too am using .247 on my Bold and I don't have your issue. I do however believe that the issues maybe solved with keston's suggestions as I had that problem when I had a 8320 and formatting and restoring the media card fixed it. Apparently it has something to do with how the BB OS formats the card, so you had formatted your media card with your old OS and now the new OS doesn't like it.

Is it the formatting of the card or the presence of the BBThumbs index files?

I just delete those after OS upgrades and I am good to go....
