Hi, my BB Bold has been working fab but recently the battery seems to be running down much faster than usual. I have reinstalled the software recently and wondered if there was some application running that would explain it??
That's entirely possible. Press Alt+Escape (back key) to see what's currently running. Make sure you're completely closing all of your apps by pressing the menu key and selecting close/exit. Pressing the red key will just move the application to the background.

One thing you should know the bold and the battery is a major issue even when your not running a lot of apps the 3G network just eats up all the power from the bold there is a way to change that but can't talk about it on the forum pin message me on blackberry messanger to show u what options you have

turn down your screen brightness. I keep mine at 10%. Buy a second battery get a cradle for your desktop. Juice it whenever you can. New Os versions can help your battery (your mileage will vary per release though some are better than others)

mine is down to ten 10% and after 10 sec it shuts off , but all my issues have been cleared did a debrand its awsome. i cant belive it runs a full day of serious use.

make sure you updated the BBY to a recent OS.
the latest one (I have 244) have reduced the Battery consumption considerably.
I think the point isn't about overall Bold battery life, but a change in their particular one. Someone suggested running each app then closing it, to 'capture' any pieces that might be causing a drain. Wouldn't hurt to give that a shot.
i'm running twitter, myspace mobile, sometimes google maps and wifi on a constant. not to mention emailing, texting and making calls on the 3g network. so i have trouble with the battery life as well. my solution was to purchase 2 extra batteries and an external charger. now i never have any issues. most people don't concider that option but i can't afford for my battery not to last me through a day. i also can't afford not to use my bold to its ful potential. don't give in. buy the extra batteries and the external charger and go on with your business...
