Is there a way of knowing that a bb PIN is used or listed/tied to a carrier??
my friend wants to buy a used bold online and the buyer told him that he released the Bold PIN from his carrier, is there a way to make sure that the PIN is released??
I am trying to convince him to get a new one, but he is not listening!

Yes contact the carrier that the device was used on and ask if the pin is still in use or not

correct me if i am wrong here , but a user cannot release a pin i believe that is solely done by the carrier.

That's incorrect. The original owner can go onto BIS, delete the account and then the PIN will be freed up. These problems occur when the original owner sells the BB and does not delete the underlying BIS account.
