Default Using Bold without BIS and BES?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

Just wondering whether I can use the Bold without BIS or BES plan from telco? I do have a unlimited data plan that I use in my Treo Pro.

I just pulled out the SIM card from my Treo Pro and put it in Bold. I am having problem using 3rd party app that uses data, but keep getting network issue. I could not login to pull data into Google Sync, Handango InHand and Viigo.

I have no problem using the BB browser though.

Wirelessly posted

The BB service uses what's called service books to work with the BB newtwork. You get these service books from your telco (when using BIS) and from your corporate server (when using BES). Without these service books, your BB will not function properly on the BB network. Now even though you have a SIM that is provisioned for unlimited data, it is not provisioned for the BB network and therefore you are not getting the service books from your telco. I would suggest that you call your telco and subscribe for a BB plan and then all will be well with your BB. On the issue of your BB browser working with the current data plan, the BB browser just wants data services so it will work.

Hope this helps you out.
