| Please Help Me I'm Verging on Tears :( Please Login to Remove! I have just recieved my Blackberry Bold which I have been excitedly waiting for for over a week. I have put my SIM in, put the battery in, put the charger in the charger port and plugged it in....... nothing happens, not a sound not a light and it won't turn on.
I thought maybe it's a problem with the charger and tried to plug the USB cable intp the phone but it actually doesn't fit. There just isn't a hole big enough for it to fit in.
Is this supposed to happen?
Is the phone supposed to let me know it's charging somehow?
Please could someone guide me step by step what I should be doing? | | Offline

| Make sure the outlet is working.
If the outlet's working, then plug the device in and let it charge for about 3 or 4 hours. Then remove the battery from the device and reinsert it.

| You're not alone, NJBB.
OP, where did you get the device? Did you get it second hand?

| Is the battery properly installed? Since you had to remove it to insert your SIM, just make sure you put it in the correct way. | | Offline

| Confused? I'm the one who's confused. The USB cable that connects the phone to the computer just plain doesn't fit into the phone anywhere. The phone isn't second hand or off of ebay or anything. It's a legitimate O2 upgrade. I'm just really pissed off now. There is still no sign of life. What normally happens when you first charge it? Is it supposed to turn on straight away or show a flashing light? | | Offline

| That is where I'm putting the phone charger into and it fits but the USB cable 100% has no chance in hell of fitting in there it's just too long and thin. | | Offline

I am sure that battery is just fully discharged. Leave it on the wall charger over night and by morning it will either be booted up or a battery pull will start the process. I am guessing that they somehow provided the wrong USB cable (don't know how).
