This is recent, we updated the BES to the latest version running with exchange 2003 and now on some phones some e-mail disappear from the phone and show as unread in outlook. If a user gets 30 e-mails in one day, then 4 or 5 e-mails will go missing on the phone and change status to unread in outlook. It takes about 20 minutes for these e-mails to go missing. no mail is lost in outlook but to see them on the phone we have to resend. It broke at one point since this setup as been working perfecly for a long time. I can we track this issue?

Can you specify which version of BES 4.1.x are you running, along with Exchange service packs installed? I'm curious on this issue but i'm also taking it you don't have a T-Support plan with RIM for troubleshooting?

The 2 mailboxes that are causing the issues are running the Avast Outlook/Exchange on-access scanner. It seems that the scanning process on the client is causing the e-mail to be temporarily moved or renamed causing the BES server to loose track of it and cause the unread-flag to be reset in outlook and the e-mail to be deleted on the phone. We will keep an eye on this and post back.
