Default Mail service books vs. BB maps

Please Login to Remove!

hello again :o

i've encountered some kind of issue when i was trying to get bb maps working on my bold.

it's disabled by default, thanks to orange. they're trying to charge 7 euros per month extra for it, my research brought up a guide etc. and it worked without any issues when i imported the bbmaps service file.

the problem is that all incoming e-mails have the line "unknown" where the receiving e-mail address should be. (a@b.c. if thats my address for example)

i've tried re-downloading the service books but that's "deleting" the bb maps icon again...any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Get Google Maps.

Don't think you need a servicebook for that.

Can you give us a link to that guide? Thanks!

I doubt that BBMaps is what they are charging 7Euro for. They just disable BBMaps so you'll purchase the other app.

they offered access to an "BB integrated map app" - my french isn't very good but they're talking about bb maps i think.

corey: i'll search for it as soon as i'm back from work, i'll keep you posted.

apbb: i have google maps - i want bb maps for..well, just because i can. :P i hate unnecessary technical limitations.

Well, I wouldn't pay for BBMaps. It's just not that great. Hopefully they don't charge you when you start using it.

Google is much better and is free. Most of the "pay for" map applications give voice prompted directions, etc. and are worth the money if you need that often enough.

I like amAze GPS. It's pretty basic, but it's free and it gives you voice directions.

I don't think they do and even if they do - they were extremely nice when I came to France and set up my Internet, Phone etc...they even reimbursed some money because I accidentally used a service I didn't want.

Google maps is indeed better but well...like I said, it's only because I hate technical limitations.

Yeah, aside from BBMessenger and the Flickr app appearing to only have BBMaps support. And I absolutely loathe "north is up" when trying to use nav. AT&T disables BBMaps too, claiming it's "not supported" (instead of honestly stating "we'll do everything in our power to ensure it won't work").

I'm curious about this guide you found for importing a service book, though...
