Hi,

I have a bold from ATT using the original OS v4.6.0.167. I wanted to know what newer version would be recommended. I am not looking for the newest one but the most stable that you would recommend. My bold has slowed down and has memory leaks....i want to upgraded to better version. Thanks for you suggestions.

Been using .247 for a few weeks now and its great. There's a poll in here somewhere as well that asked which version was better and .247 was the clear leader/winner.

I am also still on the .167 ATT release. Is there a list of what has changed/improved from .167 to .247?

There is never a change log or improvement list. Its just forum patrons that will highlight what it is that they have noticed from update to update. Never anything official. That's why this forum is so important and great. Everyone helps everyone else as well as themselves.

So we test them and the give our opinions, then you read, assess and then make your decision.

An answer would be greatly appreciated as I to have the ATT bold and I am tired of pulling out my battery because my memory gets really low my pearl 8100 never had this problem but then again maybe it was because I didn't use very many applications as I do on this one. I know this off topic sorry but does anybodies elses bold ever get hot in the back I have the refurb model but hey it was free

My Bold gets hot during very heavy usage. As stated above, the most stable OS that I have encountered is .247, so you might want to try that one to see if it reduces your hanging and memory issues. Also memory issues could be caused by an application "leaking".

if you're looking for official releases then the latest is .247.

I was on .237 (which was a Beta), and that was rock solid. I finally ugraded to .266, which is also a beta release, which i have been using for the last couple of days, and i've had nothing negative as of now to report.

why don't you read people's reviews on the release (.247) and then decide for yourself if you want to go ahead?

also, no, we cannot post links (especially beta ones), so i suggest if you're going in for a beta release, google it .

patelhc - just ran the update to .247 myself. (deleted the vender.xml and ran loader.exe) and everything seem to go smoothly. I havent noticed anything bad yet.

One thing I have noticed, in desktop manager in the app loader, it now ONLY lists the applications that have been added to the phone. Where before I could uncheck brickbreaker, word mole (stuff from the "factory") they are not listed, but are installed. Is this normal???

I also did notice some additional applications in the downloads folder that can be downloaded.

i installed .247 and so far i have not had any issues. All my apps are working well and device seems much faster.
