Default Data Plan

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new user of blackberry and have bb bold 9000 model. It's been 3 weeks now that i'm using this phone & playing around it. I worked in Maldives - Indian Ocean where I used the local carrier here. They don't have blackberry service yet which I can't apply a data plan. My plans is to get it somewhere where the data service for blackberry is available and I dont know if this is possible.

My purpose is just to use the other features such as Instant Messaging as well as the email. At the moment im using POP3 account email in our company and I want to activate this on my blackberry phone.

Who can advise what is the best thing to do. I felt like useless having blackberry without data plan service.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If you can get a plain data plan, or there are a reasonable number of Wi-Fi hotspots around, have a look at LogicMail. You may or may not be able to get it working on your carrier's data plan, but it does work on Wi-Fi. It is a good application to have even when you get a full Blackberry Data plan, for doing those things that you can't through the BIS.

Yes, but you have to have a data plan in order to get the service books etc to setup and use email.

I have downloaded and installed logicmail, configured properly but still doesn't work thru WiFi. Was wondering if there is a need of configuration to the mail server before it works. I used POP3 wherein the mail server is located in our head office.

The message appeared on the screen every time I connect is the "authentication" seems doesn't go in even though the login credential is correct. Same like If I will go to our webmail site it keeps asking about authentication. I have a gut feelings that there should be a settings needed on the mail server perspective. Hope someone can advise.

No hope that I can use my company email for my smartphone.

Wish that I can able to get it from other carrier outside from where I am now.

I need miracle
