Angry Custom Ring Tone frustrations

Please Login to Remove!

When I want to add a custom ring tone to a contact, the 'Add Custom Ring Tone' brings ups a list of included ring tones and the option to Browse.

When I select Browse the list defaults to ...MediaCard/BlackBerry/ringtones. Here there is no option (like an 'Up' option to navigate to any other location such as 'ringtones' on the device).

In this 'ringtones' location, I find a list of hundreds of folder icons (Yellow folders with green arrows in the bottom-left corner) that correspond to my music albums. I have to scroll down through all of those folder icons to find my ring tones. If I look into the 'ringtones' folder there are only ringtones (not these phantom folders).

This makes using the custom ring tone feature a major pain. My thumb is falling off.

When you get to the default location, the menu key does nothing.

Hmm, this is what I see when adding a custom ringtones.
My ringtones are located in the default folder.
When clicking the folder shown ringtones, it goes to the system ringtones folder.

So, the music folders are appearing in that list, although they are not in that folder?

Can I store my ringtones in the same location as the preloaded ringtones? If so, where are the preloaded ones stored?

Possilby. the pre-loaded ringtones are stored on the device memory.
using mass storage, you should be able to find the device drive (as opposed to memory card drive) and explore that on the pc
