Question Deleting Internet settings

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. I have a Blackberry Bold, but as I have an iPhone with unlimited data and masses of calls and texts, it only gets used for a few calls/texts, so I don't have a BB data plan. I'm on Vodafone, and it keeps running up ~10 worth of charges every month or so. Vodafone say it's calling home in a sense, getting all kinds of updates, and as I don't have a data plan, I'm getting charged.

I was advised by Vodafone to simply delete the internet settings, and it wouldn't be able to do so anymore.

It might be really simple, and just a case of going through a few menus, but I don't have the Bold to hand, so can any of you guys quickly run through the steps I need take to delete the relevant settings? I should be back with it later on tonight anyway.

I'll be using it with a PAYG SIM from October, so the last thing I need is it eating up my credit!

Many thanks.

You should be able to go to options-mobile network and change data services: to OFF.
And then it should not use data.

Cool, cheers. However, if it still decides it needs to create a connection (Vodafone said each connection only lasted a matter of seconds - presumably checking for new updates to whatever), where would I find the internet settings?

There are no Internet settings. Set Data Services to Off (as stated above) and you will be fine.
