Default Bold- Series memory leak

Please Login to Remove!

I have never had a problem with memory on my Bold. I currently have about 20 applications on my phone and have had no problems. I would usually have about 20-25 Mb of free memory. Then about two weeks ago I started having problems. One morning I woke up and started see the hourglass constantly and my OS was slow. At the time I was running .247. I checked my memory and it was down to about 2 Mb. I upgraded to .266 and now have no memory. Even when I do a battery pull, I have 0 Mb of memory and get constant hourglass. I have removed all unnecessary programs, deleted all emails, text messages, cleared cache in browser and put all pictures on my memory card. I have deleted unneeded thems, languages and other useless things. But I still have 0Mb of free memory and my phones performance is seriously impaired. Can somebody please help me. i am frustrated with constantly having my phone pause become useless. HELP!!!

I was having a similar problem about two weeks ago. I called BlackBerry help line provided and they explained to my to do a device wipe. And where the original OS which the device was shipped with was reloaded. I wipped my BOLD and upgraded to .266 with no problems and I have reloaded all apps.

Series memory leak???? Well you have a ton of apps installed. I would strongly suggest that you see this thread and be sure that you properly close applications using the Menu>End or close option. Do not hit the red end key as it just puts the app in the background where it will continue to eat memory.

Good luck and report back!

Default Serious Memory Leak

I meant to write serious memory leak. Anyway, I have the same number of applications on my phone as I had before I had my memory problems and I would have 20-25 Mb of free memory. I never added any programs and I started having this memory problem. One of the first things I did was read around the board and I have made sure I don't have any extraneous programs running. When I hold down the blackberry button I get the home screen and it shows only 5 programs running (messages, phone, home screen, browser and bberry messenger). There are no other programs running. Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming. I will try to fix it (via wiping whole device and then reinstalling OS or any other ideas you all suggest) this weekend and I will let you all know how it goes.
