Default First time leaving the country

Please Login to Remove!

In june I will be leaving Canada and going on vacation in the US, Vegas to be specific.

I've never really left the country with a phone and I'm unsure of how to go about making sure my phone will work while i go down there. Maybe someone could tell me a bit about how this works or point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

So whenever you leave the Country your carrier is no longer Rogers, you will be picked up by another carrier wherever you are going. Its called roaming. Roaming is super expensive as well. Call Rogers and ask about US roaming add on data plans and then u can use data. Without coverage I would just either turn data off on the phone or turn the phone off totally if you dont plan on using minutes or data...

My data coverage was free when I traveled from U.S. into Canada for a 4 days conference, but I was charged like 2 dollars+/min for roaming calls.

I will have to phone Rogers and see if they have specific roaming plans or whatnot.

When I go, i do intent to use Data and phone. Probably more data then phone, i want to use MSN and Google Maps for GPS definatly.
