Default WiFi Problems

Please Login to Remove!

I've downloaded in installed OS .266 without a problem. After I few days I noticed that the BB was connecting to my home WiFi but was using data to surf the net.
I know that some others have been seeing this also. Has anyone found a fix for the problem. I've downgraded to OS .247 and WiFi connects and surfs the net without a problem.

You might have to change the default browser to Hotspot Browser after an OS upgrade.

Options > Advanced Options > Browser
Set your "Default browser configuration" to Hotspot Browser. This way your BB's first choice will not be online data use.

I take it you mean it was still using the cellular network to do the browsing?

Go into your browser options and make sure that within your browser configuration, that your browser is either BlackBerry browser or internet browser.

I do not subscribe to Hotspot. I am using a regular linksys N router. But it is configured to G.

Thanks for the advice. I will re-install .266 and give it a try.

I have the same problem. A couple of days ago when I installed the 266 OS, it was fine, but today it is not connecting via wifi. Actually, the 3G icon is greyed out too.

I switched the browser configuration to Hotspot browser, but no effect.

Hmmm....why would it connect my wifi network one day, but not the next?

WTF...it is now 10:11 pm, about half an hour later, and wifi is now working?!?!!? Geez-us.
