Default Help w/ SMS

I have att an text messageing plan....I can send and receive text messages fine...only thing that annoys me is that when someone send me a full sms message longer than 160 characters, i receive the text message in parts...I understand that i am being charged one text for every 160 characters but i would just lke for one full message to show as opposed to one log message being broken up into 3 or 4 different texts

Welcome to the forums.

This is how SMS works. SMS = Short Messaging Service. All SMS messages are 160 characters.

i understand what sms is, but other phones show one full long message as one full long messaging not one long message in 3 or 4 short texts

I've never seen that before with SMS. Are you sure they didn't send an MMS message?

well i know for sure before i upgraded to the 8900 bold, i had an 8320 curve and i always received my sms messages in a long message not broken up

I will wait for other 8320 users to confirm if they've experienced this as well. But I believe they were sent as an MMS message without any pic/video attached. I normally send MMS messages if I know it's going to be a long message AND if I know the recipient can receive MMS messages.

its not a big issue its just annoying when the words cut off and i have to look for the other text message in my inbox
