Pure tech question
 

I have a bold locked with Vodafone, with a data plan. When I enquired about discontinuing the data plan with them ( I can unlock the phone by 3rd party) , they claimed that , I can not be connected then to the net using 3G even for sufing or using email client, and I would connect then only via WiFi when avialble.

Is that technically correct ?

Without a specific blacberry data plan, currently £5 a month do the bis plan from Vodafone, you won't be able to connect via the browser to the internet or use any of the blackberry data functions

But it is a shame that Vodafone is charging thier basic plan ( here in Egypt) 90 LE = about more than 10 UK pound/month. the other operator is even more than double.
