Default Bold deleting emails

Please Login to Remove!

My Bold has started deleting received emails of it's own accord. I have tried removing the battery to re-set it, and have cleared photos, sound files etc so there is plenty of memory, yet this does not help. The keep emails setting is set to 60 days so that is not it. I have deliberately not downloaded any apps to avoid software conflicts and all that is on there is what was pre-loaded when I got it. I cannot see anything in the menus anywhere that might account for this problem, so any ideas please?

Are you on a BES that may have an IT Policy that's deleting the e-mails?

No, that's not the case, I have a contract that gives me unlimited emails. They are just being deleted from the inbox at random intervals and for no good reason that I can see anywhere.

What is the free memory situation on your Bold? That behavior can also exhibit if free memory gets critically low - along with deleted message/phone logs and text messages.

According to the memory section within Options I have 31.1MB of free space in Application Memory, and free space of 858.1MB of free space out of a total Device Memory of 859.2MB

I don't save emails on the Bold as a general rule, and delete them once read and/or replied to, so they shouldn't be backing up somewhere in the system unless there is a hidden recycle bin I can't find!

My Bold has been doing the same thing & I'd like to figure out why!! I actually like to keep my emails forever & they're only lasting a month or so.

I have three email accounts & the strangest thing is that the emails from one of my accounts are still there - I've checked all the settings I can think of & all are identical...

Any help is appreciated!

Any update here?? The emails from my work email on the BES server get deleted from my bold but not my mail server. I can still see them on the computer. I have another personal email set up and those do not get deleted from my bold... weird!

if your running low on memory the BB will delete the oldest email

I have found out why this is happening with my Bold. Emails are being deleted in some form of syncing with my desktop. If I receive and read them on the Bold first, and then download to my computer later on, they then are deleted from the Bold. I am not sure why this is happening this way as I have not consciously changed any settings, but at least I know know what is going on.

I have the exact same prob - BB is less than a week old, so low memory is not the issue.

I have 2 accounts linked to my BB, my work email and my personal hotmail.

Hotmail mails stay on my BB, but my work ones dissapear after a few hours?!

Very frustrating.
