Phone clicks when making calls

All of a sudden, my Bold is making a loud clicking when calls are made making it impossible to use.

It's not signal related as it's in an area that works before AND other people w/ AT&T 3G plans are having no problem. In addition, a bluetooth headset works fine. The handset and the speaker on the device do not.

Have tried a hard reset, but that's it.

Any ideas? Defective unit?
