i came home from school today and took the battery out when the phone was almost dead and i put it back it and it wouldnt come back on i pluged it up to the usb cord and the red light came on so i took it out again and put it in again and it hasnt done anything since that
and i tried everything letting the phone charge for an hour and take the battery out and still doesnt work
what should i do?

Welcome to the forums. If you're on BIS you should wipe it with Jl_Cmder, reinstall the latest operating system and restore your data from your backup. The FAQ would come most helpful for all of those.

If you're on BES you shouldn't touch it and inform your BES admin of the failure asap.

If the phone was working quite fine before, why not just leave it plugged in more a few hours (watch a movie) and then try it again. If possible, try another battery in there to see what happens.

Don't think the phone would drop dead just like that, you would have noticed something happening before. also, what I have done with one phone in the past is to remove the battery from it for awhile (yup another movie) and then put it back in and it was good.

I had something similar happen last night. While I was on a shuttle bus at the airport I was typing away on a message and my Bold went dark. Just off. I didn't drop it or handle it oddly, it just turned off.

I took the battery out and re-seated it. Nothing. I took my spare battery out and used it... nothing. When I got home I plugged it in to the wall charger. Nothing. 2 hours later. Nothing. I thought the thing just died on me.

I took the battery out and left it over night and in the morning when I put the battery in it worked fine and has all morning.

Not sure this adds any value but that is what I did to restore my Bold when it gave up the ghost.

And there you have it, the device just needs a break .
