Default SMS VS Chat

Please Login to Remove!

Coming from a windows mobile phone I was able to keep all my SMS under 1 name like a chat vs. having a million replies & sent messages. Is there a way to set that up on bold?

No, SMS conversations are not able to be organized like that with a BlackBerry. BlackBerry Messenger keeps a single entry for an entire conversation, but that's a BlackBerry-only program. The native SMS client on BlackBerry is kind of primitive. It gets the job done, but it's not anything special. I loved SMS on my old Palm Treo 680. I have always considered that the gold standard of text messaging and I wish RIM would either license it from Palm or rip it off and copy it for their own SMS program.

Sure is! I go from Palm to BlackBerry to Symbian to Windows Mobile and even to UIQ, but I have found the best fit for me, though far from perfect, is still BlackBerry. They all have their individual shortcomings, but I'm most comfortable with my Bold. I just have to put up with imperfect SMS.

I plan to take a long hard look at the new Palm Pre in another week too. My search for my own perfect mobile device never ends!
