Angry WTF, my bold wont update!!!

im trying to download the latest version of the OS and the damn thing wont do it. i downloaded and installed the file, deleted vendor, and ran loader. it backs up the data, but once it gets to "Connect to the device ROM" it loses connection and stops!! and it takes me forever to even get the damn thing connected in the first place to even start the backup. it like doesnt even recognize theres something plugged into my USB drive on my computer. sometimes it wont even charge, other times it charges but wont do the backup. but everytime ive managed to get it to do the backup it stops at this same point. ive tried wiggling all connections with no help. and on multiple occasions once i finally got it to start backing up, i left the device and my computer COMPLETELY still... and it still fails at connecting to the device ROM. WTF is going on here? im so f*ckin mad right now!!

Sounds like you have a defective USB connector on your BlackBerry.

Have you tried jl_cmder?

Is the device plugged into a USB extension or USB hub?

directly into the port of my laptop...ive tried all 4 ports it has. unfortunately i dont have another cord. my mom storm is stupid micro USB!

jl_cmder is a utility that allows you to connect to, wipe and reinstall the OS on your device when the DM is acting up. Check it out at the link and see if it will help you out.

I agree with Fat Ryan. I wouldn't use JL_Cmder for this.

Could you try another PC if at all possible, maybe a friend's or relative's?

well i tried rebooting my computer after my bluetooth USB adapter failed to work as well. im mid-update and it appears to be working now

stupid technology lol
