Bought the OTTERBOX DEFENDER for the BOLD 9000.

When using the speakerphone, the BOLD would screech a constant highpitched feedback.

Searched online ... OtterBox suggested pulling the silicone insert on the left side to reduce sound reverberating back ... and to decrease the volume. For most users this did NOT help.

Then one user found the fix that I am sharing here.... It worked for my Rogers BOLD.

UPDATE the firmware to the latest version (BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.451 Vodafone) and the high pitch feedback is gone !!!!

Some users thought the cause was related to how the BOLD handled noise-cancellation .... so maybe the new firmware fixes this. I was previously using the last "official" firmware from Rogers (162).
