Hey guys,

I've got a Bold, on the default AT&T software. I'll have instances where the red light blinks for notifications of unread messages, or for notifications in Facebook, TweetGenius, etc. ... But after I read them, it keeps blinking. This gets SUPER annoying.

Any way to stop this? I want to avoid rebooting, bc rebooting disorganizes my bbm contacts, and I don't like that either :-/

it happens to me particulalry with facebook, when it notifys about a reply and you read it, but more replys were coming in.
only way is to remove the battery to get rid of it.

try to wait at least 5 to 10 seconds before reading, and this should stop the problem.

For any IM apps that have settings in Profiles, I turn off "repeat notification" to stop the LED from blinking.

Granted, that means if I miss the initial notification, I don't get an LED reminder but it stops the annoyance. Or you could use that freeware app that shuts off the LED.

Just to add also, we all often think blinking LED means messages, sms, bbm, calendar, missed calls, etc. But often there are other apps that cause blinking and have no indicator on the homescreen; such as Viigo mentioned above, IM+, weather apps' advisories, data monitors, memory monitors and so on that blink when you reach a certain threshold or condition. It depends on what other 3rd party apps you have installed.
