My next upgrade opportunity is in less than two weeks. Bold versus Onyx? It seems like AT&T releases a new model everytime that I have the chance to upgrade. I am torn. Rumors about a possible release data range from Xmas 2009 to March 2010. HELP !!!!!!!
The status of the Onyx from all accounts may be highly fluid. I feel better about my decision to buy the BOLD. What about battery overheating and browser issues? Is the Opera browser the default or 3rd party?
Opera mini is 3rd party and works great for now. I work for an at&t dealer and our VO of Operations is an Alpha tester for SkyFire on BB. When that comes out that will be the new #1 3rd party browser. Why? It includes a flash player. Battery over heating, load new OS and turn of 3g. All and all only minor issues with Bold.

I hate to ask a newbie type question but does the Opera cause any functionality conflicts with all the other software on the phone? How do you select the Opera as the default?
Some reasons I would favor the Onyx. Hot swappable micro sd is nice. Also the extra on board memory would be nice. No more worries. I keep alot of work data on my device. I have had to limit by Bold apps. Would be nice to skip that. Heard the optical trackpad is cool. I think its closer than farther IMO. I would compare the changes and see how much you really need them. Note the micro usb switch. I am not sure where it is on the Onyx, but lower right aint a good spot on the 8900.
