What are the downsides from buying a phone from Amazon or Wirefly as opposed to an AT&T store? I normally go to the company store.

Assuming that I can resolve my Desktop Manager sync issues with my Curve, can DM be used to transfer all settings and data to the BOLD? OR Do I need to uninstall the first DM and install the CD that comes in the box when I purchase the BOLD on July 2nd?

The version you have currently should work. You will have to change the PIN or tell it to detect the new one. When I upgraded devices, DM found the new PIN fairly quickly.

Returns woudl be easier through your corporate store, perhaps tech support also, not sure about that one.

Amazon/Wirefly would probably be cheaper. they both lock you into a 2 yr contract as foes the Corp store. But make sure you read the fine print on the contract with Amazon, et al. If you make any changes with like a 6 month period, you can get charged full retail for the device.
