Got a whole new white housing, and keypad from truesupplier - haveing problems getting the lens off and I am stuck with the original - does anyone know how to remove the lens from the lcd?

its glued on, so only way is to pry it off VERY carefully.

I tried to pry it off using the opening tool I got with the phone but I will pull some of the egde up and some small bubbles appear, so I feel I will either damage the screen permanently or will have loads of bubbles across the screen

the bubbles are likely between the lens and lcd, but yes, its possible you could damage the screen altogether.
in which case you would need a new one, and you might as well get one incase, but could actually try with the new one to remove the lens.
if you succeed with the new screen, then just swap them out and sell the other.
if you dont manage it, then at least you've not screwed up both.

You need to heat up the glue between the screen and the lens or it won't come off!
