Ive never updated my BB Bold's software, which version do I update to??
 

Im really confused.

Ive read all the threads about software upgrades etc.

But im so confused with alllll the numbers and what the hell they mean.

I bought my Bold about 6months ago and I am currently using the software version that was originally installed when i bought the phone.

Here is what it says in the "about" section;

Blackberry 9000
smartphone (3G, wifi)
v4.6.0.162 (Platform 4.0.0.155)
Cryptographic Version v3.8.5.50a
Branding Version 1.0.45.176

What does each of these mean? And what are the latest updates for these?

Sorry to sound dumb, just i check the regular update threads, and i do not understand a word.

I want to upgrade, my battery life is pretty poor, i get errors, crashes occasionally, sometimes it says "CALL FAILED" which is annoying.

Can someone please help a complete newbie?

I basically want to upgrade my BB to a better software version - which one?
And what do all those numbers mean? I see different last-3 digits every thread i look at!

I would suggest the .282 like above has posted.

I am running it and it works great.

(y) yes, i have also been using this version and the most important is the app memory! it's been realllyyy stable and on the previous version i had to do a batt pull every day and here, i've done it after 3 days.. and i still had like 13.8MB free before the pull!
