Default Standby Problems - 07-02-2009, 07:42 PM

I have encountered a problem when I put my Bold into standby mode. I will do this by pressing the mute (standby) button on top of the device and get the message that it is entering standby mode. Everything works so far, but after about 2 minutes the Bold leaves standby mode without any reason. There is no mail, no sms, no call, it is just lying in front of me on my desk. Plus it won't go back into standby mode, but kill my battery

Does anybody know what the reason for this behavior is? Is there a quick solution? Would it help to get the AutoStandby App?

Thanks everybody!

I have had my bold come out of standby by itself.
but had no problem putting it back into standby.

I can put it back into standby mode ACTIVELY as well. But I would have to do this every two minutes :-S
There must be a reason why it comes out of standby mode itself. I just have no idea, what it could be. Maybe Bluetooth???

is bluetooth running in standby mode and actively connected/connecting to a device?
i would say yeh this is likely to do it.

Ok, so I've tried the Bluetooth thing. There is no change at all when I put Bluetooth to off
I really have no idea why this is happening...
On another Bold I have access to, everything works fine and I can't think of any difference.
Does anybody have an idea???

perhaps a battery pull might fix it?

Ok, so my problem seems to be solved. I've done the battery pull but at first it didn't work out. But after some time now it works very well
So, although I don't really know why it works, it works. But a battery pull is definitely a good thing as it might help when you encounter this problem.

battery pull is the first port of call for problems.
i should have mentioned it earlier but wasnt sure if it would have been relevant.
