I'm assuming you've tried a battery pull?

Is the problem is that they are not mechanically being pushed and engaging? By experimenting with different pressures and angles of pushing to they respond differently? Is there any tactile feedback? You should feel a slight movement when you push the buttons with a small amount of springyness. What do you have assigned to the side buttons? The camera takes some time to boot up but not 30 seconds.
If under warranty return it.

Seems to me you got moisture in your phone. Did you accidently leave yoru phone in the bathroom when you took a shower or did you use your phone while you were sweating because when keys stop working usually means moisture.
