I'm having a problem when I receive a SMS Message. Everytime that I receive a long SMS it cuts my message in several small ones. Can someone help me with this problem?? Thanks in advance.

Its not a "problem". sms is defined by 160 characters. a long message of more than that, counts as more than one message. (and are charged accordingly when sending).
And so the message is split into 160 character messages

is the text message coming from a BB user? For example, my friend has a blackberry and AT&T (like me) and all the SMS comes as one. Another friend has verizon and has a samsung phone, it comes as seperate text messages.

My point is, I think it's reliant on the sender's phone/service.

Hello, first off all thanks for your fast reply. The sms's cames from diferent places and the final result it's always the same. The provider says that the problem is not in theyr side. I don't know if someone has or haded the same problem, that's why I post this message in the forum. Sorry about my english, it's not my native language.

The problem isnt the sms cost. The problem it's the fact that BB cuts the message in 2 or more messages. If I receive a message it appears 2 or 3 sms's to read (but it's the same message cutted in 3). I always had PocketPC and I never had this problem. I don't think that's a BB problem. I think that this is a configuration problem.

If i receive a long message, it will display the first 160 characters with [recieving more] after it.
then it will download the rest of the message.
if i have exited the message before it download the rest it will re-notify me about it, as its classed as another message, but will show in the original message.

so im not sure about the whole seperating into different messages thing.

I know its not about the cost, was just mentioning it.

GSM Carriers (from GSM to GSM) are able to plop all the pieces into one message. The break happens when a CDMA carrier comes into the equation. They, for some reason, don't have the capability of doing this.

Keep in mind though, all the information above is still true. So even when a message from a GSM carrier goes to another GSM carrier and shows up as one long message, you still get charged for the individual 160 character messages. It's just seamless for viewing.

sms messages can only be 160 characters. If it is longer, it will be broken up into separate messages accordingly.
