Ok I have a car stereo that I can hook my bb up and listen to music from. What I want to do is splice a old headset with the mic in it back to a 3mm plug to plug into my stereo. So I would splice after the mic where the headphones go to the plug. Is this possible?

I don't really think this is possible. You could try but it might damage the mic and the old headset.

I think this is what you're thinking of. And yes, it should work.

Assuming you want a cable to plug into your phone to give you speakerphone over the car stereo?

You can do what I put in the diagram, or you can just use a normal male-male 3.5mm stereo jack for just the audio. When you make a call with it plugged in, press the $ button which is also the Speakerphone button. If the phone has normal headphones in without a mic, and you turn on speakerphone, it will go to the headphones and use the phones mic for talking.

So you have those two options.

I click on your attachment and nothing shows up on my bb. And yes I use the male male 3mm but I didn't know of the $. I would still like to see the attachment.
