Default Deleting emails from "mailbox & handheld"

Please Login to Remove!

Q - I have 2 emails accounts set up on my BB Bold - 1 is verizon, one is yahoo. When I receive an email on the yahoo account and click on delete from mailbox and handheld, no problem. When I do it for the verizon emails sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't (mostly doesn't).

Any thoughts on what I can do? Going on vacation soon and it'd be nice to not have to come home to a ton of deletable verizon emails on my desktop.

Thanks in advance!

Go to your message folder and go to options. Then chose the Email Reconsiliation you should see at the top message services. From that list you can chose what account you want to modify and what options for each for the Delete On: option.

Let us know if thats what you were looking for.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

I urge you to not use the verizon acct. There is no mailbox to backup mail and there is no real means to block spam.

Thanks Caspan. I think this is what I was looking for.

Akosnitsky...not sure I'm following you. I've had the Verizon account since before time and I'd prefer keep using it. I'll do more research to see if I can find out what you are referring to. Thanks.

If you are using BIS, ther eis no email sync. Some carriers, such as Yahoo, have agreements with RIM and software in place to allow it to delete.

The "Delete on BB on Mailbox and Handheld" option will delete email from your email server, but will do nothing to mail that has already been downloaded to your PC/Mac email client.

Three main reasons to not use the carrier supplied account:

1. No SPAM filter so you open yourself up for more SPAM than you wish to receive.

2. If and when you change carriers, you cannot take that account with you. It is gone for good.

3. The only way to read mail to that account is on the BB itself, as there is no webmail option. When there are data outages, you cannot send or receive email and you risk losing some as well.
